About Me

My love for all things neuro began at the University of Houston-Downtown, where I completed a B.S. cum laude in Psychology. Inspired by my Cognitive and Biopsychology classes, I knew that my passions lay in Neuropsychology and Neuroscience. I continued my education at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, UK where I received my Masters with distinction in Cognitive Neuropsychology under the supervision of Dr. Gert Westermann. I returned to Houston and took a brief clinical position as part of the Psychology team at the Monarch School, where I had previously completed a post-undergrad internship working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders. The kids were amazing, but my true passion was still in research, so I found a position as Research Coordinator at Baylor College of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Harvey Levin and Dr. Gerri Hanten. This position gave me the experience I needed to answer my question. Research for me, please!

After two and a half years of working at BCM, I returned to academia to complete my education with a Ph.D. (which I’m finally close to getting!), and I am beyond grateful to Rice University and my advisor, Dr. James Pomerantz for giving me the opportunity to do so.

Overall, I’m a laid-back academic, with a love for family, friends, animals, music, food, beaches, Belgium, and oxford commas. It’s been a long road, but every step has been and will continue to be a pleasure. More research, please!
